这是第八届*****电影节最佳外语片，本片虽然名为“驿站长”，但其实真正的主角是驿站长的女儿。电影结局悲惨，女儿为了父亲的脸面，为了满足父亲的虚荣心，为了保持自己在父亲心中的完美形象，而不惜嫁给自己不爱的人。叙事没什么可圈可点的地方，女主的表演有点过了，而且很浮夸，比如她和骑兵长的婚礼上被他心爱的米加误会了，米加含恨离开，然后女主就送父亲上火车了，在火车站里，女主完全没有把那种刚和心爱的人闹掰又要马上送走父亲的不舍的复杂心情演出来，反而呈现给观众的是那种只有对父亲不舍的一味的大喊大叫的浮夸表演，此外，父亲第一次进城要找明斯基算账时女主见到父亲时的反应也是这种同样浮夸的表演。
